Your data processed during the use of our website will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of the storage no longer applies, the deletion of the data does not conflict with any statutory retention obligations and no other information on individual processing procedures is provided below.
Cookies
- a) Session Cookies
We use so-called cookies with our website. Cookies are small text files or other storage technologies that are placed and stored on your end device by the Internet browser you use. These cookies are used to process certain information about you on an individual basis, such as your browser or location data or your IP address.
This processing makes our website more user-friendly, effective and secure, as the processing enables, for example, the reproduction of our website in different languages or the offer of a shopping cart function.
The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit b) DSGVO, insofar as these cookies data are processed for the purpose of initiating or executing a contract.
If the processing does not serve to initiate or execute a contract, our legitimate interest lies in improving the functionality of our website. In this case, the legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) DSGVO.
These session cookies are deleted when you close your internet browser.
- b) Third-party cookies
Where applicable, cookies from partner companies with which we cooperate for the purpose of advertising, analysis or the functionalities of our website are also used with our website.
Please refer to the following information for details on this, in particular the purposes and legal basis of the processing of such third-party cookies.
- c) Removal option
You can prevent or restrict the installation of cookies by setting your internet browser. You can also delete cookies that have already been stored at any time. However, the steps and measures required for this depend on the specific Internet browser you use. If you have any questions, please use the help function or documentation of your Internet browser or contact its manufacturer or support. In the case of so-called Flash cookies, however, processing cannot be prevented via the browser settings. Instead, you must change the settings of your Flash player. The steps and measures required for this also depend on the specific Flash player you use. If you have any questions, please also use the help function or documentation of your Flash player or contact the manufacturer or user support.
However, if you prevent or restrict the installation of cookies, this may mean that not all functions of our website can be used to their full extent.
Newsletter
If you register for our free newsletter, the data requested by you for this purpose, i.e. your e-mail address and – optionally – your name and address, will be transmitted to us. At the same time, we store the IP address of the Internet connection from which you access our website as well as the date and time of your registration. During the further registration process, we will ask for your consent to send you the newsletter, describe the content in detail and refer to this data protection declaration. We use the data collected exclusively for sending the newsletter – in particular, it is therefore not passed on to third parties.
The legal basis for this is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) DSGVO.
In accordance with Art. 7 (3) DSGVO, you can revoke your consent to receive the newsletter at any time with effect for the future. To do so, you simply need to inform us of your revocation or click on the unsubscribe link contained in each newsletter.
Contact requests / contact options
If you contact us via the contact form or e-mail, the data you provide will be used to process your request. The provision of the data is necessary for the processing and answering of your enquiry – without the provision of this data we cannot answer your enquiry or at best only to a limited extent.
The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) DSGVO.
Your data will be deleted if your enquiry has been conclusively answered and the deletion does not conflict with any statutory retention obligations, e.g. in the case of any subsequent contract processing.
User contributions, comments and ratings
We offer you the opportunity to publish questions, answers, opinions or evaluations, hereinafter referred to as “contributions”, on our Internet pages. If you make use of this offer, we process and publish your contribution, the date and time of submission as well as the pseudonym used by you, if applicable.
The legal basis for this is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) DSGVO. In accordance with Art. 7 para. 3 DSGVO, you can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future. To do so, you only need to inform us of your revocation.
In addition, we also process your IP and e-mail address. The IP address is processed because we have a legitimate interest in initiating or supporting further steps if your contribution infringes the rights of third parties and/or it is otherwise illegal.
The legal basis in this case is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) DSGVO. Our legitimate interest lies in the legal defence that may be necessary.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics on our website. This is a web analysis service provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA, hereinafter referred to as “Google”.
Through the certification according to the EU-US Privacy Shield https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt000000001L5AAI&status=Active Google guarantees that the data protection requirements of the EU are also complied with when processing data in the USA.
The Google Analytics service is used to analyse the usage behaviour of our website. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) DSGVO. Our legitimate interest lies in the analysis, optimisation and economic operation of our website.
Usage and user-related information, such as IP address, location, time or frequency of visits to our website, is transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, we use Google Analytics with the so-called anonymisation function. This function enables Google to truncate the IP address within the EU or EEA.
The data collected in this way is in turn used by Google to provide us with an evaluation of visits to our website and of the usage activities there. This data may also be used to provide other services related to the use of our website and the use of the internet.
Google states that it will not associate your IP address with any other data. Google also provides further information on data protection law at https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/partners, including information on how to prevent the use of data.
In addition, Google offers a so-called deactivation add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de, along with further information on this. This add-on can be installed with the usual Internet browsers and offers you further control over the data that Google collects when you call up our website. The add-on informs the JavaScript (ga.js) of Google Analytics that information about your visit to our website should not be transmitted to Google Analytics. However, this does not prevent information from being transmitted to us or to other web analytics services. If and which other web analytics services are used by us, you will of course also find out in this privacy policy.
Google Maps
We use Google Maps on our website to display our location and to provide directions. This is a service provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA, hereinafter referred to as “Google”.
Through the certification according to the EU-US Privacy Shield (“EU-US Privacy Shield”) https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt000000001L5AAI&status=Active, Google guarantees that the data protection requirements of the EU are also complied with when processing data in the USA.
To enable the display of certain fonts on our website, a connection to the Google server in the USA is established when you access our website.
If you call up the Google Maps component integrated into our website, Google will store a cookie on your terminal device via your internet browser. In order to display our location and provide directions, your user settings and data are processed. We cannot exclude the possibility that Google uses servers in the USA.
The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) DSGVO. Our legitimate interest lies in optimising the functionality of our website.
Through the connection to Google established in this way, Google can determine from which website your request was sent and to which IP address the directions are to be transmitted.
If you do not agree to this processing, you have the option of preventing the installation of cookies by making the appropriate settings in your internet browser. Details on this can be found above under the item “Cookies”.
In addition, the use of Google Maps and the information obtained via Google Maps is governed by the Google Terms of Use https://policies.google.com/terms?gl=DE&hl=de and the Terms and Conditions for Google Maps https://www.google.com/intl/de_de/help/terms_maps.html.
Google also provides further information at https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated and https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Social media and online service providers
We also have a presence on social networks and online service providers such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.
On the social networks listed below, we promote our presences on our website. The link is made via a linked graphic of the respective network. The use of this linked graphic prevents a connection to the respective server of the social network from being automatically established when a website with a social media advertisement is called up in order to display a graphic of the respective network itself. Only by clicking on the corresponding graphic is the user redirected to the service of the respective social network.
After the user has been forwarded, information about the user is collected by the respective network. We refer to the information provided above. It cannot be ruled out that the data collected in this way is processed in the USA.
This is initially data such as IP address, date, time and the page visited. If the user is logged into his or her user account of the respective network during this time, the network operator may be able to assign the collected information of the user’s specific visit to the user’s personal account. If the user interacts via a “Share” button of the respective network, this information may be stored in the user’s personal user account and may be published. If the user wants to prevent the collected information from being directly assigned to his/her user account, he/she must log out before clicking on the graphic. In addition, it is possible to configure the respective user account accordingly.

Vimeo
We use videos and use the service Vimeo. The provider is Vimeo LLC, based in the USA. By integrating (by means of a plug-in) Vimeo, we can show you video material directly on our website. Vimeo offers us the opportunity to present you with high-quality content directly on our website.
When you use the plug-in, e.g. by clicking on the start button of a video, a connection is established to the Vimeo servers and the server is informed which of our pages you have visited. Furthermore, information about your actions (web activities) that you carry out on our website is transmitted. These web activities include, for example, session duration, bounce rate or which button you have clicked on our website with a built-in Vimeo function, and Vimeo also obtains your IP address. This information is usually transmitted to all Vimeo servers in the USA and processed there. This also applies if you are not logged in to Vimeo or do not have an account with Vimeo. If you are logged into your Vimeo account, you enable Vimeo to assign your activities directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your Vimeo account while using our website.
We would like to point out that we have no influence on the data transmission and data processing at Vimeo.
The use of Vimeo is based on our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. f. DSGVO, in order to optimise our internet presence and our offer for you and to ensure a comprehensive presentation of our activities.
Further information on data processing and notes on data protection by Vimeo can be found at https://vimeo.com/privacy.
Our website uses the YouTube button of the social network YouTube, which is operated by YouTube LLC with headquarters at 901 Cherry Avenue, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA (“YouTube”). When you call up a web page of our website that contains such a button, your browser establishes a direct connection with the YouTube servers. The content of the YouTube button is transmitted by YouTube directly to your browser, which then integrates it into the website. We therefore have no influence on the scope of the data that YouTube collects with the button, but assume that your IP address is also collected. For the purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by YouTube, as well as your rights in this respect and setting options for protecting your privacy, please refer to YouTube’s data protection information on the YouTube button: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/.
If you are a YouTube member and do not want YouTube to collect data about you via our website and link it to your membership data stored on YouTube, you must log out of YouTube before visiting our website.
